Myself and two others; William Long and Joe Keech, took part in the IMechE design challenge 2016 in which we had to design and build a line launcher which would fire a projectile (a squash ball) between two and six meters accurately. We had a budget of £20 as the main design limitation.

We chose the catapult design over any other design as it seemed to be the most accurate and reliable solution for firing a squash ball.

With this design we made it through the Universities internal competition, the IMechE Regional competition and ended up coming 2nd in the national, final competition in the IMechE HQ in London. 

​

We also had to make a poster to present our device at the competition. This job was assigned to me, the completed poster is shown below.
