For this project I was tasked to create an attachment for the DeWalt DC988 power drill, the attachment was required to change the functionality of the drill to something other than a drill. I opted for a jigsaw, this meant that the mechanism had to both increase the RPM of the drill and turn the rotational movement into a reciprocating one. The RPM had to be increased as the optimal speed for jigsaws was found in research to be 3000RPM, the drill had a maximum speed of 2000RPM so had to be increased.
